Gaia Spa is a luxury spa opening Monday 1st August 2016, set within the grounds of Boringdon Hall, Devon - a Grade I listed 16th century country manor house hotel, on the edge of Dartmoor, near Plymouth.

Gaia Spa promotes your personal natural wellbeing. Our environment is designed to transcend the stresses of the modern day routine. Creating spaces where you find yourself naturally relaxed. Our facilities and therapies will provide the opportunity to nourish mind, body and spirit, resulting in a balance between the individual and the wider world we live in.

Gaia is the ancient goddess of nature “Mother Earth”. Mother Gaia is a healing Goddess, it is believed that true wellness requires us to return to the cradle of mother nature and live in accordance with natural laws. Boringdon
The history of Boringdon Hall stretches back as far as the Doomsday Book, where one of the earliest mentions of a permanent construction was recorded. The name ‘Boringdon’ comes from the Saxon ‘Burth-Y-Don’ meaning ‘enchanted place on the hill.’ The grand Devonshire manor became crown property following the dissolution of the monasteries by Henry VIII in 1539. The monarch later granted the property to his courtier Thomas Wriothesley, the Earl of Southampton, who was a royal favourite.

Since then, Boringdon Hall has, of course, had a rather extravagant makeover, giving this stately pile a serious air of perfection, with devotedly designed interiors, 40 sumptuous rooms and suites, a well-stocked bar and two tantalizing restaurants – the fine dining Gallery Restaurant, and the Great Hall where lighter bites and afternoon tea is served.
